What is a Non-Resident Employer Bond?

A Non-Resident Employer surety bond is required in some states for out-of-state employers with in-state employees.  The bond protects the state and various departments in the state in the event that the employer does not fulfill their obligations for state taxes, benefits, or other benefits.  The bond may be in lieu of a cash deposit.
