An Immigration Service Provider Bond is a type of surety bond required by both the state of New York and the City of New York. The City of New York surety bond ensures that immigration assistance consultants conduct business in an ethical manner, complying with NYC Administrative Code Sections 20-770 et seq. and Rules of the City of New York Sections 5-260 et seq. and all related regulations of the Department of Consumer Affairs of the said City of New York. Any aggrieved person who is proven to be injured by the provider may seek compensation from the surety bond.
The New York State bond is called an Immigration Assistance Services Provider Bond and is required to provide security pursuant to N.Y. Gen. Bus. Law ยง 460-g. This bond ensures that the bonded principal will refund all fees to customers as entitled and not otherwise financially harm customers through providing immigrant assistant services.
