What is a North Carolina Driver Training School or License Tester Bond?

Commercial Driver Training Schools must furnish a surety bond to comply with the "Rules and Regulations Governing Licensing of Commercial Driver Training Schools and Instructors" adopted and promulgated by the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles pursuant to Article 14, Chapter 20 of the North Carolina General Statues. The bond ensures that the bonded principal and school will carry out and execute the terms of all contracts for driver training education entered with any student for driver training education. The school must pay back or refund any amounts collected for tuition or fees in the event the principal violates the terms of any contract entered into with students for driver education training and the bonded principal must comply with any contract, provide the instruction contracted for and deliver for the full period designated in the contract.
