Florida Agricultural Products Dealer Bonds

What is a Florida Agricultural Products Dealer Bond?

An Agricultural Products Dealer Bond is required in Florida per Sections 604.15-604.34, Florida Statutes. Dealers in agricultural products must obtain a license from the Commissioner of Agriculture of the State of Florida and also furnish a surety bond (specifically called an Agricultural Products Dealer Bond) in an amount as approved by the Commissioner. The surety bond is conditioned upon the agricultural product dealer's full compliance with the provisions of the statutes as amended. Specifically, the bonded principal must truly account for and make payment to producers, their agents or representatives, and any other licensed agricultural dealers, for all agricultural products purchased from, handled or sold to such producers, their agents or representatives, and/or purchased from other licensed agricultural dealers.
