How Much Does a Bonded Title Effect Value?

How Much Does a Bonded Title Effect Value?

A bonded title has no effect on the value of your vehicle in regards to selling the vehicle yourself.

In fact without a bonded title you will have difficulty selling your vehicle. Most people will refuse to purchase a vehicle if ownership can't be proven.

Let's look at the process so you understand the role of the bonded title and why it's required.

The Value of Your Vehicle

In order to get a bonded title, you have to purchase a title surety bond and this requires you to know the value of your vehicle.

In more states, the value of your vehicle will be based on one of the common online websites like Kelly Blue Book or JD Power.

All you have to do is answer some questions about the condition of your vehicle and they will provide you a value.

Some states are a little different.

If you're getting a Texas title bond, they will provide you a value based on the vehicle's VIN and their own value calculator.

If you're getting an Alabama title bond, the value of your vehicle is based on a table they created that uses the age of the vehicle and the type.

And in some states you'll have to have a local dealership or police station provide you an appraisal.

Selling Your Vehicle Is Up To You

Once you go through the vehicle bonding process including obtaining your title bond and registering your vehicle with your state, you'll receive a bonded title.

Now the vehicle is officially yours and you can sell it.

You can sell it for whatever price you want (or can get).

Remember the bonded title just proves ownership. It has nothing to do with the price you decide to sell the vehicle at.
